Founder, Investor, Quant, Father, Husband
Well, I'm a still a California farm boy at heart. I grew up milking cows, building fences, breaking horses. The dirt may have left my Carhartts, but that ethic has never left my veins.
I built 16 companies from the ground up, bootstrapped. The first few were amazing... failures. The school of hard knocks taught me how to find a need in the market, build a better way to serve that market's need, sales, positioning, marketing... and of course, ops.
I'm also realistic, I know that there's always more to learn (one of the reasons I love your show), and so I'm constantly reading (or listening) to keep myself sharp.
Today, I'm fortunate to be the co-founder of Svperior, GmbH here in Switzerland with one of my brothers, Adam, as my other co-founder. We use the same systems thinking that we used for years to engineer enterprise level mission critical technology, and apply it to companies around the world, so that they can deliver more value to their market, faster, better, in large and ever increasing amounts, while cutting their opex significantly.
We can go into details in the show if you like, but with a recent client (as an example), within 2 weeks, we took a department that would take 13 hours to deliver a single unit of value, and reduced that to 4 minutes and 22 seconds. That resulted in saving them 450K a quarter in opex, and increasing value to the market significantly.
Through our companies, we employ hundreds of people around the world, and serve and advise companies and governments.
