Greg Coticchia is a seasoned CEO, award-winning entrepreneur, and business builder with over three decades of experience leading high-growth tech companies—from early-stage startups to publicly traded enterprises. He is currently a Partner at CEO Coaching International, where he works with founders, CEOs, and executive teams to drive clarity, growth, and extraordinary results.
Greg has sat in the CEO seat six times and helped lead 14 startups (founding four). He’s raised over $73 million in venture capital, launched more than 100 products, and played a key role in 17+ M&A transactions. As an executive, he has led companies to successful exits with a combined enterprise value exceeding $4.4 billion. Most recently, he served as CEO and Board Member of Sopheon (LON: SPE), a leader in enterprise innovation management, where he guided the company through a private equity exit.
Earlier, Greg founded and served as the inaugural executive director of Carnegie Mellon University's Master’s in Product Management program—the first graduate degree of its kind—shaping the next generation of global product leaders.
He’s held senior roles in startups, scale-ups, and billion-dollar enterprises. Whether it’s building go-to-market engines, navigating complex turnarounds, or scaling leadership teams, Greg’s coaching style blends candor with practical insight. He’s known for cutting through noise, asking the hard questions, and helping CEOs align vision to execution.
Greg holds an MBA and a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, where he also teaches B2B marketing at the Katz Graduate School of Business. He earned his International Coaching Certification (ICF) from Duquesne University in 2010 and holds additional training in Entrepreneurial Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
A three-time finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year and Tech 50 CEO of the Year, Greg was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus by both the Katz School of Business and the Swanson School of Engineering.
