Former CEO Best Buy/ Keynote Speaker/Exec Producer and Host of Podcast

Brian J. Dunn is a former Fortune 50 CEO, seasoned board member, and lifelong storyteller focused on leadership, culture, and the power of human connection.
Brian spent more than 25 years at Best Buy, rising from a frontline associate to President, COO, and ultimately CEO, helping guide the company through periods of rapid growth, transformation, and global expansion. His leadership journey shaped a deep belief that the strongest organizations—and the most effective leaders—are built by listening to people closest to the work.
Beyond his executive career, Brian has served on several prominent boards, including DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the American Film Institute, and the Minnesota Vikings Board of Advisors. He also served as Chairman of the startup Upsie, a consumer-focused company challenging traditional models in the extended warranty industry through transparency and trust.
Brian holds a strong point of view on leadership in the modern era, believing that authentic, human-centered leadership becomes even more critical as artificial intelligence continues its exponential growth as a powerful tool. While AI can accelerate insight and efficiency, Brian believes trust, judgment, empathy, and values must remain firmly human responsibilities.
Today, Brian is the Executive Producer and Host of The Most Important Podcast Ever, a storytelling-driven show highlighting ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Through intimate conversations, he explores leadership, resilience, gratitude, and the moments that shape who we become.
Brian is also the Founder and Principal of The Dunn Group, where he advises leaders, boards, and organizations on strategy, culture, and navigating change with authenticity and heart.
Above all else, Brian considers his most important role to be Dad to his three sons. He is an avid golfer, a devoted Houston Rockets and Minnesota Vikings fan, and a passionate supporter of Susan G. Komen and other breast cancer charities—causes that reflect both his personal journey and his enduring belief in gratitude, service, and showing up for what matters most.
